The Legionnaire is a medium class technological mech that specializes in medium to close range combat. It is armed with a combination of burst-fire explosive autocannons, a double laser system, and a melee hatchet.

History

The Legionnaire has a long and checkered history. Originally built by the Lyran Commonweath during the Fourth Succession War for urban combat, it next saw action against the Clan Invasion. After being badly piloted by Major Adam Steiner of the Somerset Strikers against the exact same star of Jade Falcons for nearly a year without any real success, the mech developed a terrible stigma. The rash of canceled orders ultimately compelled its manufacturers to change the mech's name in hopes of clearing out the remaining units from the initial production run. Finally, the remaining 5,000 newly dubbed "Legionnaire" battlemechs were mothballed, their Brion cache eventually discovered in 3140 by the MCM Academy and put to use training cadets.

Description

The basic trainer tech mech for starting mech pilots, the Legionnaire is a basic, well-armored bipedal combat platform armed with a variety of weapon types.

Tactics

For a medium mech, the Legionnaire is incredibly tough. Get in close where you can apply your weapons to their greatest effect and stay mobile, as your jump heat is low enough to allow for plenty of dodging.
