The Mantis is a low profile Mech custom designed for infiltration and stealth combat. With little in the way of protection, the Mantis is not intended to engage in direct confrontation, but rather use its hard-mounted sniper cannons to take down enemy mechs from some distance away. The Sniper cannons are the mantis's strongpoints, you likely want to hold on to those. Either a DAAC or jumpjets could capitalize on its manueverability. The mantis has 13 loadpoints. Of those loadpoints the sniper cannons eat up 8. That leaves 5 points to play with, 8 if you have [[Overload]]. Make them count. Do not try to toe to toe anything with this mech. Capitalize off of its sniping capabilities and stay out of the line of fire. |

History
The Mantis is a low profile Mech custom designed for infiltration and stealth combat. With little in the way of protection, the Mantis is not intended to engage in direct confrontation, but rather use its hard-mounted sniper cannons to take down enemy mechs from some distance away. The attention to detail using light fabricated alloys makes it one of the few balanced armor light mechs on the field. Primary load-outs for the Mantis do not call for additional weapons, leaving it extremely vulnerable if a mech is capable of closing distance with it. While this makes it a difficult mech to pilot in single combat, as a support mech for a full battle deployment it is invaluable.
Description
The Mantis is a lightweight high buoyancy, high speed, mech. Its armor and loadpoints are rather low, even for a light mech. The mantis's primary and only focus is hit and run sniping.
Other Notes
The Sniper cannons are the mantis's strongpoints, you likely want to hold on to those. Either a DAAC or jumpjets could capitalize on its manueverability. The mantis has 13 loadpoints. Of those loadpoints the sniper cannons eat up 8. That leaves 5 points to play with, 8 if you have Overload. Make them count. Do not try to toe to toe anything with this mech. Capitalize off of its sniping capabilities and stay out of the line of fire.
