The Omni Sphere cannon is a repeat blast ordinance launcher suitable for mid to heavier Mecha.  It fires little balls that skip along terrain while emitting periodic blasts in all directions, hence the name, omni spheres.
The Omni Sphere was designed to flush mechs out of tight places and holes, particularly when gravity could be used to cluster a barrage of these shots into the area, leaving the target no place to dodge but out.  Early iterations of this gun fired lasers in all directions, though the system was refined to create an all-encompassing blast for greater coverage around the sphere.
