A shotgun by any other name

The specially modified Medium Ultra Auto-cannon is a direct-fire ballistic weapon, firing HEAP (High-Explosive Armor-Piercing)amunition, unique to the Ruke Light Stealth 'Mech these auto cannons offer good short bursts, with the added bonus of a splash damage area of damage if shots missed on near by surfaces guaranteeing damage to grounded Tank 'Mechs and pilots who lack jumping ability in their 'Mechs

Usage

Equiped in either left or right upper arm mounting spots, activate and fire, a burst of auto-cannon bullets will travel in a direct line path to the target location due to the multi fire nature of the auto-cannon type, it is possible to make a spread of rounds akin to Gatling spray and pray methods. while not a continuous fire weapon, the trade off is a splash region of damage on missed shoots that could potentially damage a 'Mech by proximity to the impact site

Veteran notes

  • more dakka, for the dakka god: the UAC's being upper arm mounted allows for other equipment to be slotted in the shoulder and pec area of the 'Mech. overall these Medium auto cannons are better than the standard Medium UAC found in the shop or included with the MyrmidonMedium 'Mech as an omni mount. offering less heat, better re-fire rate, damage, and ammo count.
  • "the floor is lava!": the best use of any Auto-cannon type weapon is the splash effect that missed shots provide, purposely aim at a opponent's feet to guarantee more damage by letting them walk in to the damage bubbles to destroy themselves
  • instnat AMS?!: while not recommended, the Auto-cannon class weapons can be used in a pinch to intercept incoming missiles. reducing their damage output if you can catch them early enough mid air.
