The Thumper Shield is a defensive utility included with the thumper.
Use
To use the thumper shield have it equipped and armed. Press crouch to generate a force field around your thumper that blocks fire. Anything that gets past the shield will deal only half damage to your thumper. The shield also negates all momentum and locks you in place.
Other Notes
The Thumpers weaponry will fire through this shield. Other weapons may not. Experiment before fielding anything. This is a great thing to use if you accidentally over-thrust and are at risk at leaving the arena. Tapping the shield acts as an instant air-brake.
The shield played properly can stop a seeker barrage dead in its tracks.
