The Reaper is a long range Eclypse mech.

History

The Reaper was one of the original model Eclypse mechs deployed in the Collandra system defense against the scourge. It was noteable in the original run eclypse mechs for its distinctive crimson glow with default reactor calibrations. Even if retuned to emit on different color wave-bands the reaper has a distinct red shimmer about its vertdrive wings when they are engaged. The role of the mech was long ranged air support with an array of ranged armaments and a powerful vertdrive that kept it aloft while engaging The Throgg.

Description

The reaper is a red luminescent dragon-like mech with large wings and an array of long ranged weaponry. The Dark Beam Lasers are instantaneous weapons while the Gox Cannons are high speed projectiles. Both weapons are rather precise and allow this mech to press an attack at long ranges.

The mech lacks in overall DPS though it can take a few hits before being destroyed, making it a robust ranged weapons platform. Its ground speed is rather low but it makes up for it with a pretty high power vertdrive, which is rather like a strong JumpJet.

Other Notes

Don't try to get into a slugging match with this mech. It's damage output isn't on par with some assault mech configs. Play up the vertdrive, stay in the air and evasive. Make yourself a hard target while sniping the enemy. Use the drive when you hit the ground, this will give you maximum lift, play your combat out as a bunch of high altitutde jumps, lay your shots out at your apex and when you hit the ground. Never linger on the ground long, that will get you hit.
