The Akuma is a medium mech inspired by the Battletech mech, Owens.

History

The Akuma was designed to be an upgrade to the Flathead mech. Engineers upgraded the armor propulsion and designed a dedicated payload of explosive ordinance for the mech. When all was said and done the finished product was over twice the weight of a flathead with competative speed and a nice load capability. A recent development, this mech is still seeing its first field service, however, it's showing potential thus far.

Description

The Akuma is a fast attack mech, it's heavier payload is mostly splash-style attacks with the twin akuma cannons and the squid missile launchers. All its explosive ordinance is dumbfire with solid damage output. The Bluebolt laser is an interesting piece of laser hardware, it's got better DPS then most lasers of its class, but it needs to be charged prior to firing instead of being an instant hit weapon.

Tactics

The bluebolt laser doesn't mesh well with the Akuma Cannons on paper. The cannons are semi-rapid fire semi-automatic, and when you're holding on to the trigger for 2 seconds to get a shot off you aren't firing those cannons off nearly as rapidly as you. Also the laser is a precision weapon and most of your other weaponry is splash. Granted, the laser has a delay before firing so a rather finessy pilot can press the trigger, release primary explosive payload, and then adjust aim to get the laser part of the attack on target. All's said and done though you're likely better of replacing the laser with something else explosive, such as the White Noise's Hail Clusters.

This mech's fast, and you may as well work with that by giving this thing some movement enhancement, like JumpJets.
