Hail cluster is an omnimount explosive ordinance.

History

Hail clusters were a custom designed weapons system for the White Noise. Their creation was outsourced and the manufacturers created a system that was omnimount since they weren't sure about the final specs of the mech. It's a pretty solid weapon system however, which results in many pilots salvaging the weapon system from that mech and using it in a variety of other mechs.

Use

The hail clusters travel in a ballistic arch and carry the momentum of the mech that fired them as well as react to gravity. On impact they explode. The explosion radius is 7 meters. Yes, radius, that means the overall width is 14 meters.

Other Notes

This is a wonderful pec mount weapon. It's quite easy to score a barrage of hits once you get used to the spread and the explosive spread means you won't need a whole lot of accuracy to hit your target. This goes great with air mechs in dive-bombing air maneuvers where the ballistic arch will work with you.
