The Barbarian's Dual Mortars are a close range lob weapon. While they have extremely short range in most situations, their advantage is not only their considerable damage, but their predictable range. This allows the pilot to target opponents regardless of what elevation they may be firing at with their other weapons. While this range is quite short, the arc which the projectiles travel is quite short, it continues in this arc regardless of height. This means that the weapon is able to reach further distances when firing at targets well below the mech. Because of this, firing from elevated positions is highly advantageous to the Barbarian.

Upon impact with anything solid, the mortars detonate in a small AOE. This area of affect is quite small, but because the weapon fires two rounds per shot which are slightly offset, this slightly increases the area, while creating a small zone where both detonations overlap, applying substantial damage to the target.

The Dual Mortars are best used for up close combat, utilized in a charge against an opponent. Since they carry the mech's momentum with them like many other lob weapons, this not only give them an extra bit of range, but makes for a punishing early strike before moving in for melee combat utilizing the Barbarian's Battle Axe or any other melee or close range weapons such as LBXs.

The Barbarian's Dual Mortars are a close range lob weapon. Their advantages are not only their considerable damage, but also their predictable range. This allows the pilot to target opponents regardless of elevation. While the arc of the projectiles travel is quite short, it continues to follow the arc regardless of height. This means that the weapon is able to reach further distances when firing at targets below the mech. For this reason firing from elevated positions is highly advantageous to the Barbarian.

Upon impact with anything solid, the mortars detonate in a small AOE. The weapon fires two rounds per shot each creating an AOE. Hitting both will apply substantial damage to the target.

The Dual Mortars are best utilized in a charge against an opponent. Since they carry the mech's momentum this allows them an extra bit of range and makes for a punishing early strike. This benefits the Barbarian in melee combat utilizing its signature melee or any other close ranged weapons.
