The Vars Series cannons are an especially designed fully automatic ballistic weaponry in use specifically for the Sentinel Heavy Tank 'Mech.
Loaded with High-Velocity rounds, upon exiting the barrel the sheer speed of the slug diffuses the gravitational force of drop, allowing the
cannons to have considerable effective range approximating a 700m effective range during combat.

Under stock configuration the VARS cannons have an ammo complement of 600 rounds. firing two rounds per trigger pull at normal operation optimally
offering 300 individual shots per magazine accumulating to well over three minutes of concentrated fire.

Special Notations

Lock Down

when used in conjunction with the Sentinel's lock-down function the firing rate of the VARS doubles, ejecting 4 bullets per trigger pull as well as energizing the slugs heating them upon exit to a red hot, increasing their damage capability. additionally the increased firing rate also increases the cool down of the Sentinel as a whole, and with the increased fire rate and ammunition expenditure, lock-down mode also offers 150 shots per magazine accumulating to 2minutes of concentrated fire.

Veteran Notes

  • Beginner greenhorn pilots of the sentinel will find that the VARS cannons are quite versatile as both long and medium range line of sight weapons.
