History

The Bandit is the creation of the Smithson and Mark Guild of Engineers. The Bandit was developed to fill a need for a combat vehicle with more agility than a traditional tank or mech, yet could bring enough firepower to the field as a 'first strike' weapons platform. The inclusion of overly powerful engines as well as the ability to quickly switch between treads for rough terrain, or wheels more urban affairs, made the Bandit a very fast attack platform. However, this was at the cost of quickly burning out it's single reactor core, compared to other similarly sized mechs and tanks. The mech-like raised cockpit gives the single pilot more control over the vehicle, allowing for a greater range of vision and fire. This, however, made the pilot more exposed compared to more traditional tanks, where the driver and gunners were typically protected in the tank's main body. The grenade launcher allows the Bandit to target defended positions and flush out opponents, especially in urban environments. It's main projectile armaments are ideal for dealing with light vehicles and infantry, though not well suited against larger, more heavily armored opponents. Thankfully, the Bandit uses the standard mounting rigs, allowing it's loadout to be customized for different engagements.
